If You Can Remodel A Bathroom, You Can Sell Freight
Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 1:56AM A buddy of mine hired several of us to become freight consultants for a company called InXpress. We needed to go to a week long training session at InXpress Headquarters in Salt Lake City. What we didn't know was that we would be helping remodel one of his bathrooms while there. A basic knowledge of wiring and plumbing will get about 70% of the remodel done. There are basics to sales we should all know.Your relationship building ability is key to selling anything. Working hard and understanding simple things like goal setting, knowing the Target customer, knowing your product and having faith you can do it are the other important keys. The only thing from that list that changes in sales of a different product is the knowledge and target customer. Since all of us have been involved in sales before jumping into this new venture will be fairly easy once we understand the new product and target. When hiring a sales force you need not worry as much about what they have sold before but how they have sold before. If they can do the basics really well, the rest will will come in a short amount of time.
