Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 7:37AM So it is that time of year when you are busy writing your strategic marketing plan. A vital component is your competitive analysis. If you've been doing your homework this can become the easiest part of your plan and here is the cheaters way to do it. Remember how you should be listening to your clients? This involved search.Twitter.com, google alerts, Yahoo and LinkedIn answers. Why not fo the same for your competition? I take all the intel I am gathering and put it in folder for each competitor. Within the folders I have subfolders for each aspect I want to compare such as price, availability, brand recognition, press, etc. Then in my report I just note everything I have gathered. I do the same for the companies I represent and am writing the Marketing plan and walla I am done. Monitoring you company and the competition is easier than every.
