"Know Me!" Not "No, Me!"

Duh! Befgore anyone will Like Me! Trust Me! and finally Buy Me! they need to Know Me! Yet often in our hurry to get the potential client to the buy me stage we skip this important part. As a matter of fact all to often I has observed a "No, ME!" attitude. Believe it or not if you make it about the client, they will get to know you and your products. To get started in the Know Me! step ask yourself the following questions:

Do people recognize the brand?

Do people recognize me and associate me to the brand?

How have people become aquainted to the brand?

How have people become aquaineted with me?

If I google the brand or my name what comes up?

What can I do to become better known?

What can I do to associate myself with the brand?

Where have I been lately where people could get to know me?

What events or associations would best help people to know me?

I could go on but I think you get the principle here. Basically what am I doing so that people will Know Me!

To get you and your brand known you have to be out there. Got to local events, join Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn and parcticipate fully. Answer questions on Social Media sites, make comments on news site. Make your image and brand positive. Never say you cant do more to promote the brand, because there is always something more you can do. Get creative and practice to yourself conversations you might have with potential customers. Make it obvious. People dont mind being sold if you tell them up front. For example I was an ambassedor for the local chamber of commerce. As such I welcomed new members into the chamber. As part of the welcome I stated "and now for the sales pitch...." Then invited the new member to lunch how I could help. All of these activities will help people get to know you. What are some of you favorite Know Me! activities. Please comment and lets start a conversation.
