"Tell Me Baby, What's Your Story..." Part 2
Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 6:15AM Using Part 1 we now can build a story about any one part of our life. I know what your thinking, but it is not interesting. Well I used to think that way, but no more. Watch and see.
SETTING -- Last Night here at the Abaroa house
PLOT -- Thinking about how I can impress C.C. Chapman with my writing abilities as a Digital Dad with Teenagers when suddenly an argument breaks out between my wife and our 17 year old over the use of the phone. The Teen says to her mother, "You better give me the phone or I'm going to hurt you!". "Fred!" calls the mother for the Digital Dad to intervene. The Dad tries to get both sides of the story and daughter says, "Fine! She can have the phone I'll just use Skype on the computer."
CONFLICT-- Man vs Teenager
CHARACTER -- Mother, Teenager, Digital Dad
POINT OF VIEW -- That of the Digital Dad
THEME -- There are so many tools for communication today. Telling a teen "You can't use the phone, its time to get in bed" isn't conveying what you really want to happen. When need a vocabulary that is all inclusive as to every tool used for communication.
So this is a typical night, but you can see where it can get interesting. In Part 3 I will actually write the story. Till then fill out the story outline from above for several parts of your life, Your childhood, your first date, A time when you ate at Costa Vida, the first day on the job, meeting that golden client, anything. You'll begin to see how much your life's experiences have to offer.
