Is There A Different Reality Outside Of Social Media?
Monday, August 10, 2009 at 8:28PM We had the same questions when the internet was still fresh. I was lucky enough to conduct a study for Pepsi online while the same study was conducted in malls across the US and guess what...They matched. This, however, is not so in social media, yet. I attended a Social Media Breakfast at Communispace in Boston where the speakers pointed out a few of the facts. One speaker talked about the Motrin Mommys. Although it appeared there was an uproar about a commercial involving a baby holder, in a survey to non-twitter mommy there wasn't a problem. Several other incidents were pointed out also. So does this mean that social media is not a good research tool? Not necessarily. Listening is always good. Just be careful about any hard decisions made based on public Social Media tools only.
