It's The Law!
Friday, August 21, 2009 at 4:06PM One think that scared one of my daughters when practicing driving was the disregard drivers had for the law. They would honk and make obscene jesters at her when she obey the speed law. They do that to me when I'm going five over the limit. I watch a women in a car today flip off and honk at two cars who cut her off. The problem was really her. She was driving in two lanes weaving back and forth. I watch a mother toss a diaper under her car yesterday at the Mall. There is a speed trap I go through just about every day. The speed limit is 65 and when drivers see the cops they slow down to 50. There were over 43k fatal car accidents in 2005. 40% drunk driving related. And yet I see t-shirts, bumper stickers and hear speeches encouraging us to break the rules so you will stand out. Well guess what, those of use who obey the rules are now the ones standing out and getting respect. And it is a lot less stressful using your cruise control at the right speed limit and see the cop.
