Listening Is Such An Underestimated Marketing Strategy

I was going to write this blog using a different title before I went to the Social Media Breakfast, Boston today, but ran out of time. Good thing because Diane Hessan, CEO of Communispace Corporation, gave me this most perfect title, "Listening Is Such An Underestimated Marketing Strategy". I have been lucky to work in market research which, if done correctly, is all about listening. Customers really have a lot to say and it isn't all bad. Many customers have the solution to growing your company. I am not just talking about a survey or a campaign to solve a problem but actually building a community of customers to engage with, and listen to. A community that would talk with each other and build bonds. A community in which you could assign a facilitator that would gain insight that would produce extraordinary business results.

This is all possible you know, you just have to decide to do it and have the right people to manage it. I heard from three today.
